Ballet - Classical training emphasizing proper technique, body positions,
and terminology through barre work, center work and progressions across
Lyrical - Ballet based dance with an emphasis on fluidity, strength, and
emotions in which the classical ballet dancer can incorporate, ballet,
modern, and jazz technique focusing on interpretation and musicality.
Pointe - Classical ballet training taught on pointe. Supplemental ballet
Tap - Progression of various levels or rhythm tap experience from basic
beginner tap to advanced tap technique. Students are placed according to
age, experience and/or ability.
Jazz - Popular music is used for instruction with a main emphasis on jazz
technique and hip hop through stretching, coordination exercises and age-
appropriate jazz combinations. Ballet training not necessary but strongly
recommended. Students are placed according to age, experience and/or
Hip Hop - A high-energy class that uses the latest sounds in rap, R&B and
pop music together with movements influenced by some of today’s hottest
video choreographers. Hip hop encompasses movement that has elements
of poppin', locking, and breaking as well as freestyle movement to give
students the opportunity to develop their own sense of style. Hip hop is
urban, it’s street, it’s diverse and forever changing. While no previous
training is required, classes will use basic body isolations found in other
technique classes (a ballet or jazz class is strongly recommended). This
class will break down steps and technique and also emphasize bringing
style and personality to the movement...Hip Hop is never done small and
students will be encouraged to step outside of the box and dance big.
Pre-K Combo (3-5 year olds) - Classes consist of an introduction to ballet,
while incorporating basic tap steps to teach the children rhythm and the
ability to recognize simple musical patterns. It is designed to teach the pre-
schooler basic dance steps and proper terminology, while developing the
students' large motor skills, musical awareness, and appreciation for dance,
through age-appropriate creative movement.
Children's Combo (5-8 year olds) - Classes consist of age-appropriate
ballet and tap steps, patterns, terminology, and musicality. Floor exercises
and center work are taught for proper placement and stretching with an
emphasis on ballet positions and exercises with the use of head and arms.
Modern - is a dance style that centers on a dancer's own interpretations
instead of structured steps, as in traditional ballet dancing. Modern
dancers use dancing to express their innermost emotions, often to get
closer to their inner-selves. The choreographer chooses music that relates
to the story they wish to tell, a costume to reflect their chosen emotions and
is usually done in bare feet.
Adult - Classes will be offered based on interest in ballet, tap, and/or jazz.
Red Hot Dance Fitness - Combines the hottest music with even better
moves. Beginners build confidence with easy to follow dance moves set to
your favorite songs, while more difficult choreography is layered in so the
advanced can be challenged. Red Hot Dance Fitness is a dance based
fitness class for anyone that loves music and movement. DANCE, SWEAT,
BURN CALORIES.....all while feeling like Beyonce's backup dancer. An
invigorating, exhilarating, liberating and calorie burning dance party that will
have addicted from the first beat!
